Digital4Sustainability consortium meets in Alcalá de Henares to drive project progress

The Digital4Sustainability consortium recently came together for an in-person meeting on 19–20 March 2026 in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, hosted by one of the partners, Universidad de Alcalá. The meeting gathered partners from across Europe, with others joining online, highlighting the project’s collaborative spirit.

Over two productive days, partners reviewed progress and aligned on the next phases of the project, which continues to move forward strongly in its mission to support Europe’s digital and green transitions.

Building on strong foundations

The meeting marked an important milestone for the consortium, coming two years after the project’s kick-off meeting in Brussels. Since then, Digital4Sustainability has made significant strides in shaping a shared vision for developing the skills needed to drive sustainable digital transformation across Europe.

Key areas of progress

Discussions throughout the meeting focused on the continued development of the project’s core outputs, including:

• Project coordination and alliance management, ensuring strong collaboration across partners
• Updates on the Needs Analysis and Digital Sustainability Skills Strategy, a key foundation for addressing Europe’s evolving skills landscape
• Progress on the design of educational profiles, curricula, and learning materials
• Planning for the upcoming pilot programmes, which will begin rolling out across Europe later this year

Partners also explored next steps for dissemination and engagement, including strengthening community-building efforts and planning for a major project event after the summer.

A shared commitment to Europe’s twin transition

The consortium meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that the project remains closely aligned with industry needs and policy priorities across Europe.

With strong progress across all work packages and clear plans for the months ahead, the Digital4Sustainability project is well positioned to deliver impactful training programmes and resources that will support Europe’s sustainable digital future.
