Urgent D4S upskilling actions in Spain on Digital Twins as a Tool to Promote Sustainability (a training workshop organised by UNIR)

Digitalisation and sustainability intersect to create more efficient and environmentally friendly business models in what is named “the Twin Transition”, a strategy that advocates addressing both concepts in a coordinated manner. In this context, Digital4Sustainability is aimed to identify key skills and learning paths, thereby responding to the demand for emerging profiles capable of leading this hybrid transformation in organisations.

As a partner of the Digital4Sustainability project, the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) has developed a short course about Digital Twins as a tool to promote sustainability.

The course was delivered as a live seminar in November 2024 and is now available online.

The course is focused on how a digital tool like Digital Twins can support the sustainability strategy of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

Guided by leading experts, learners can discover what digital sustainability and digital twins are, and then learn how to apply this tool in their own context, following the example of some successful applications in wastewater treatment and additive manufacturing of mortars. By taking this course, learners can gain practical insights and strategies that can be immediately applied to their work.

The course is articulated in 5 video lessons: Introduction on Digital4sustainability; Digitalisation and Sustainability in Industry; Digital Twins and Model-Based System EngineeringDigital Twins in a Water Treatment Plant: A Practical Case; Digital Twins for Additive Manufacturing of Mortars: A Practical Case,
